Redbreast Nuthatch

$10.00
SKU: 51007

The Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta canadensis) breeds across the boreal forests of Canada from British Columbia to Newfoundland, and south through the western mountains of the United States. It moves southward in irruption years when cone crops fail in the boreal forest. It is known for applying conifer resin around its nest hole entrance — thought to deter predators. One of the more acrobatic small birds, it forages head-downward along tree trunks, spotting insects that upward-moving birds miss.

This series is designed to create beautiful hangings for yourself or as gifts. Finished size individually as 20" x 20" wall hangings, or you can create an entire 64" x 80" quilt with any 12.
