Spotted Towhee

$10.00
SKU: 51010

The Spotted Towhee (Pipilo maculatus) is found across western North America from southern British Columbia to Guatemala, inhabiting dense shrubby undergrowth in forests, chaparral, and suburban gardens. It forages by scratching vigorously through leaf litter with both feet simultaneously — a distinctive double-scratch technique shared with few other North American birds. Partially migratory, northern populations move south in winter while many western birds remain year-round. Its bold black, white, and rufous plumage makes it one of the more striking members of the sparrow family.

This series is designed to create beautiful hangings for yourself or as gifts. Finished size individually as 20" x 20" wall hangings, or you can create an entire 64" x 80" quilt with any 12.
