The Scarlet Mormon (Papilio rumanzovia) is native to the Philippines, where it is one of the more commonly encountered large swallowtails in lowland and foothill forests. Females display prominent red markings on dark wings, while males are considerably plainer — a clear example of sexual dimorphism within the species. It is named after the Russian naval officer Nikolai Rumyantsev, who sponsored early 19th-century scientific expeditions to the Pacific.
